Community Leader.
Fiscal Conservative.
Proven Problem Solver.

Bobby Burch is the leader we need.

"I believe the City of Moulton is on the cusp of a great opportunity—we have the chance to grow into the vibrant, charming town we all know it can be, without ever losing that small-town feel that makes us special. We need to give folks in neighboring counties a reason to come here and spend their tax dollars—because let’s be honest, we’re already doing that in their communities. Towns like Athens, Madison, Tuscumbia, and Cullman have shown what’s possible. There’s no reason Moulton can’t be that place people want to visit on a Friday or Saturday night."

Meet Bobby:

Bobby Burch has proudly served the people of Lawrence County as District 4 Commissioner since 2010, bringing decades of experience in public service, small business, and community leadership to the role. A lifelong resident of Moulton, Bobby has dedicated his career to fostering sustainable growth, revitalizing the local economy, and improving the quality of life for all residents.

During his tenure on the Commission, Bobby has guided Lawrence County through significant challenges—including the aftermath of a devastating EF5 tornado and the sudden closure of International Paper, the county’s largest employer. Thanks to his strong leadership, the county not only weathered these crises but emerged stronger, with clean audits, an “A” credit rating from Standard & Poor’s, and balanced budgets that preserved essential services.

Bobby is a champion of creative, community-driven solutions. He worked with the Lawrence County Board of Education to convert the shuttered Speake School lunchroom into a regional food commissary, creating 45 jobs and providing meals for seniors in 16 counties. He also played an integral role is starting “Christmas on the Square,” a now-beloved tradition that brings families together while the goodwill and pride that it brings to our hometown adds to our quality of life and it gives Moulton a "Hallmark Movie" atmosphere.

In recognition of his effective governance and forward-thinking initiatives, Lawrence County was named “Most Distinguished County Government in Alabama” in both 2015 and 2020.

In addition to his public service, Bobby is the founder of The Burch Agency, an independent insurance firm he has operated since 1993. He is also the current President of the Rotary Club of Lawrence County, where he leads projects like “Taste of Our Town" and all proceeds go to local charities, groups, and causes.

Deeply rooted in faith and family, Bobby is a lifetime member and deacon at Moulton Church of Christ. He has been married to his wife, Tonya, for 33 years. Together, they have two children: Dr. Coleman R. Burch, MD, and Dr. Brylee R. Burch.
